At that time, he turned to Eastern music. Although he was successful in his musical career in the USA, his first album, which he released in 1986, did not get any attention from the public.

Shlomi Shabat made his debut in 1989 with the song "Biglal Haruah" composed by his sister Lea Shabat, with lyrics written by Miha Shitrit. In addition to the success of this song, Shabat became one of the top musicians in the country, due to the success of the second album of the same name released that year.

He participated in Festigal in 1990 and Eurovision auditions in 1991. His third album, in the style of South American music, was very successful. All the albums released about every year by Shlomi Shabat, who is a prolific musician, attracted great attention from music lovers.

One of his biggest successes on stage was in 2000 with the song "Le kol ehad yesh". This was a duet performed together with Lior Narkis, composed by Shabat with lyrics by Uzi Hitman. This song was chosen by Reshet Gimel as the song of the year. The album "Haverim", which included this song, has sold over 200,000.
